Demographic Transition Model
Belize is considered a stage three country in the demographic transition model. The high birth rate combined with the already low death rate makes for a substantial natural increase. There is still room for advancement in the area of education of children and the health of the overall population, however, many improvements have already been made. Advances in medicine will continue to lower the rate of HIV/AIDS, therefore raising the life expectancy.
